Situated near the British Military Cemetery of Bayeux, the Memorial Museum of the Battle of Normandy narrates the battles which took place in Normandy after the D-Day landings, between 7th June and 29th August 1944. The collections of military equipment, the diorama and the archival films allow the visitor to grasp the enormous effort made during this decisive battle in order to restore peace in Europe.

A great visit to better understand what the allies went through in 1944. It took me two hours to visit this museum. Worth the time and every penny. A place where one should take their grandchildren.

I only had an hour here but wish I had more as they had a lot to read. There are so many museums in the area so I can't compare to the others but I enjoyed it and learned some new things.

A great museum from WW2, it has just about everything from the D-Day landings, and all very well displayed.

My his amd amd son wanted to visit. It was ok but mostly just a lot of vehicles. A half hour is about all it takes to visit so a bit expensive for what it is.

Well laid out museum, with lots of equipment on display, good descriptions for the items on display and the film they show is good as well. The museum explains the events well and is not one sided or favouring one nation. A good museum to...More

If staying in Bayeux for more than a day (and without access to a car, like us) buy the B3 pass and visit all these museums! This museum was very informative and we learned a lot about the battle of Normandy after our tour of...More

There are numerous museums around the area that are devoted to the d-day invasion. This was the first one we saw but I would not say it is the best. I would recommend the museum at the American Cemetery which I though was better. Of...More

For our short visit to Normandy, we purposely chose to tour the sites of D-Day instead of the numerous museums. But based on reviews chose this one in the heart of Bayeux as the one we would visit. We were not disappointed. Lots of visual...More
