If one wants to get an idea of the scale of operations of Operation Overlord, this is the place to be. It houses a large no of war vehicles, other ammunitions from that period, maps, artifacts and historical snippets. Must visit for all world war 2 history enthusiasts.

Very well done. Lots to look at in 3 separate buildings. Cute little gift shop. Entrance fee included when you take the Band of Brothers Tour with Overlord Tours. Could easily spend 2 hours in the museums + an hour to walk around the town square where the Paratrooper landed on the church steeple. Lots of places to eat or... More

Good museum situated opposite the British World War 2 Cemetery. Lots of exhibits outlining the key personnel and action of the Battle of Normandy including a film of the Normandy campaign.

We opted to go to this museum which is one of many in the area. What we liked is the scale is doable and provided many of the main points from all perspectives. It was well balanced and provided a true appreciation for the experience. I would say for die hard WW2 historians or buffs it may not be big... More

A fitting reminder of recent history. Visit everything if you can. Look at the photographs all around. Take time to see the movie and it will inform you. You might want to revisit some displays later now you have more knowledge.

We visited the museum as part of our trip to Bayeux and were pleasantly surprised at just how much information was on display. There was so much to see that it almost became information overload! The vehicles and equipment on display are very well presented and the film was worth seeing too. Like most of the attractions in the area... More

We recently completed a four-day stay in the beautiful Village of Bayeux. The purpose of our trip was to take the Overlord TOURS to the Normandy beaches. We had a free morning our last day and decided to go to the museum in Bayeux. This was a very pleasant surprise the museum is certainly well worth your time to visit.... More

The extensive displays of WWII equipment in realistic dioramas made this a superb visit - it's amazing that much of the equipment remains intact and in good condition. This is the best collection of tanks and other vehicles I saw in my two week visit - a must for WWII history afcionados.

Extremely informative. Easy to spend 2-3 hours if you want to read everything, watch the movie and appreciate the events that took place. This is an important museum to visit.
