It's a street with lots of nice buildings, most of which lean into the centre of the alley. Make it part of your walking tour and take in the shops, bars etc.

I enjoyed seeing the tutor style buildings. There were darling cafes and shops to people watch. It is worth a stop.

Rue Eau de robec, Place du Vieux-Marche, Rue Saint-Romain, Place de l'Aitre de St. Maclou are all beautiful little streets in Rouen one should wander. There are ample places to sit and enjoy a meal, drink some cafe and enjoy a crepe.

This is funky ally that terminates at a plaza in front of the Church of Saint-Maclou. Beware there can be local automobile traffic nudging you along but by and large it is pedestrian, a delightful walk past porcelain crafters, stone carvers, bakers, cafes and other nifty artisan shops. Plan on spending about 45 minutes from one end to the other... More

The 90 cm Rue des Chanoines splinters off this street and connects with Rue St. Nicholas. There is also a great patisserie called Dame Cakes on this street. As with many of the streets in Rouen, it is chocked with Medieval character

Rouen was completely charming, but this street in particular was very interesting with its old, half-timbered houses, tiny shops and historical buildings. The recommended walking tour (which is on the tourist map your hotel will give you) takes you down and around this street and it's well worth a visit. Some of the houses are starting to lean like the... More

Rue Saint-Romain is a street that if you spend several days in Rouen, you will find yourself walking down it often. After all, it is the street alongside the cathedral. But in its own right, there are things to explore on this street. First and foremost, the most famous teahouse in the city, Dame Cakes, is there. And there is... More

You can walk round this city and find the old building have been preserved. The old town is fantastic and needs to be visited. Time is the factor when you are visiting, just how much do you need to see all. The only adverse part id the cobbles on the roads its hard walking for some and very bouncy for... More

We loved walking round this historical town and seeing the medieval houses. It was easy to visualise life several hundred years ago.
