What a great little place to stumble across. Go there. It is a treasure trove for the nose and senses. It has a ,overly atmosphere with really engaging and helpful staff. An experience not to be missed if you are in the area

We stayed at Fontevraud- l'Abbaye not realising on site there was the soap museum and shop on site. The museum was very interesting but the shop was fabulous. The staff were lovely and friendly and the soaps were wonderful. I have just finished the geranium...More

Fontevraud is also famous for its soap factory, which is actually just outside the village boundary, in a complex of buildings which houses a hotel and a fine restaurant (the latter reviewed separately) . Plenty of parking. You can't actually visit the soap factory but...More

Fantastic shop, great for gifts and all the products smell wonderful. The lady who served us even kindly gave us some complimentary soaps!

Worth going for the smell which is wonderful, locally made soap for sale. Lovely presents but expensive.

This is fairly close to Fontevraud and used to be a farm for the abbey. It is a lovely place, where you can stay, or visit for the soap museum and shop. There is also a restaurant there as well. Lovely feel to the place....More

Very helpful and obliging staff lovely soaps etc ideal for gifts for self and family and friends a great variety of choice, and the lovely aroma just follows you and stays with you very unique and personal experience

Natural soaps and other toiletries, situated right inside the Domaine de Mestré. A wonderful place to Christmas-shop for all your friends (they ship).
