Great stained glass windows, many of these are very high up, 20 meters or so, but there are some stunning ones at ground level - I have posted a few photos which I hope do justice to the grandeur of the Cathedral. 1768

You feel you "ought to" visit the local cathedraL,but this particular cathedral isn't that impressive. Short walk away from the sea front and shops to locate it.

We stopped in here while on the walking tour of La Rochelle, absolutely breath taking, the architecture, the windows so beautiful. Sat for a while to reflect and lit a candle in memory of a departed friend. Well worth a visit

The exterior is quite dull, but the interior has some fabulous points. The stained glass windows are exceptional and there are some fine descriptive paintings. There are also some great carvings and the organ is really spectacular and enormous.
