This reconstruction of an ancient Greek house was built on a superb location, the tip of the Baie des Fourmis which is surrounded on three sides by the sea. Théodore Reinach, an archaeologist, tried to recreate the atmosphere of a luxurious ancient Greek noble house, combined with the modern comforts of a Belle Epoque villa. The result is eccentric, but... More

A stunning location combined with an architectural authenticity and determination to replicate an ancient Greek home makes the Villa Kerylos a must see while visiting the Cote d'Azur. The mosaic tile floors, wall murals, custom designed furnishings, library, dining area etc are works of art . The downstairs spa room and upstairs shower rooms are amazing, if only to illustrate... This is a fun day trip. We were staying in Monaco and took a train to Beaulieu (2.90 euros per person) for the day. Walked from the train station to the Villa and enjoyed the beautiful scenery as well as the spectacular tour of the home. You learn a lot not only about ancient Greek customs but also about the... Thirties rich lover of Ancient Greece builds villa in classic greek style with a pet architect and pots of money. Why not? Fun to see, and home to some genuine antiques as well as brilliant reproductions. We got lucky and hit a free entry day (once a month)

Not the cheapest place to go to but very interesting and superbly presented. The audio guides are excellent. A genuine view into a different era.

Villa Kerylos is located beside the sea, hence the view is picturesque. What is more appealing is the design and finishings of its interior ranging from the floorings to the bathtubs and to the individual rooms. Worth the visit if you are in Beaulieu.

Worth the visit to see the remarkable villa built to capture a Greek villa. The former owners certainly didn't spare a penny on their gorgeous retreat

This villa is a very detailed representation of a well-to-do Greek home. Very very pretty - not what you see on National Geographic. The architecture and decoration seem well thought out except for the collection of Greek statues on the lower outside level. The inside though is intriguing and well-worth listening to every word on the tour guide phones. The... More

The Villa Kerylos is perfectly positioned in Beaulieu-sur-Mer enjoying great views towards Cap Ferat. Built in the 1900s employing classical Egyptian designs, it offers an interesting incite into the how wealthy Egyptians must have lived more than two thousand years ago.
