A symmetrical looping staircase greets you on the walk up to the tall iron doors to the museum. Once inside the grand marble and divine rendering on the walls emanates a royal class to the building. Large portraits abseil from the ceiling throughout the corridors with quaint rooms displaying information on historical Nice with many busts displaying pivotal figures of... More

This is old nice, the grandeur side. The mansion is beautiful and for many rooms has English cards to follow. I especially liked the historical photos that told of old Nice. This opportunity sparked my interest to learn more history of Nice. Besides I used my museum pass which I thought was valid for 48 hrs. I found out later... More

We purchased a 7 day pass to visit the museums in Nice. This one was our favourite. The instruments are well displayed and information clearly marked in both French and English.

This beautiful Palace is in fact the creation of a nouveaux riche family with a glorious past, a monument over their great ancestor Marchal Massena. The building is the work of Swedish born architect Tersling, often incorrectly said to be Danish. The upper floor has a very good exhibition of local history. the location is super central, close to the... More

Wonderful villa with amazing interior. Fantastic rooms with an interesting history. Informative leaflets in several languages in every room. The floors have a great mosaic and the ceilings beautifully decorated. On the second floor there was a interesting exhibition of old Nice with maps that showed where old buildings and street were situated. Well worth a visit.

10 places in Nice for the price of entrance fee to one for ten euros for 48 hours. We saw Matisse and Roman history and this fascinating museum about Nice and Napoleon and how Nice became French.

No, it isnt the biggest museum you will ever go to but it does have some really good historical photos of the area. We thought it was worth 10euros but if you are expecting a huge grand museum then you may not.
