We attended one of only four performances of Verdi’s “Rigoletto”, and both the way it was staged, the cast, including the choir, the conductor and the orchestra performed at their very best. We bought our tickets on the day the general sale opened, and was...More

All of the events we have attended at this Nice Opera have been great. Earlier this season we attended a ballet, which was awesome. We found this Sunday concert series on the Opera website and were pleasantly surprised that tickets were only 8 euro. The...More

Treated to Carmen at the Opera in Nice. Wonderful performance, but sadly could not stay for the second part because the seating was unbelievably uncomfortable. Probably the worst I have ever experienced. Possibly ok for a short legged teenager, but not for a retired, medium...More

I somehow came across the information for the Sunday matinee for families so I made sure to take my two children (ages 3 and 7) when we visited Nice last week. This was such a treat. The building is absolutely stunning and the kids loved...More

Only seen outside, as the opera was in holiday during the summer months. It is a great neo classical building. It would be better if it had some square in front of the main entrance, so the building would be visible in its full beauty.

I did not go inside, but the outside looks remarkably . Located in the old town near the market and promenade des Angles.

Casual chic is fine although there were men in suits and women very formally dressed. I wore black trousers and a nice black top with a fancy scarf I could use for warmth or as an accessary.
