It took Baroness Béatrice Ephrussi de Rothschild, one of the most original women on the French Riviera, seven years to build one of the most beautiful sites on the Côte d’Azur. An enlightened art enthusiast who travelled back and forth across France and Europe, Béatrice de Rothschild built up an incomparable and eclectic collection of masterpieces: priceless Sèvres and Vincennes porcelain, works by Fragonard, paintings by the masters (Boucher, Carpaccio, Tiepolo, etc.), Louis XVI furniture, and so on.

Perfect surroundings and very interesting audio tour. Café was expensive but only what you expect in a Rothschild manor... in Nice! We had drinks but no more (a bottle of coke was €5). However, the food did look delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

A supreme example of Belle Epoque living, a pink palace containing amazing furnishings and collected artworks representing an era's taste rather than being of great intrinsic interest. The gardens are striking, if bedraggled in early spring.

Visited this amazing villa last week as part of my 60th Birthday celebrations. Its stunning, both the building, and the setting. Unfortunately we visited when there was a howling bitter wind and snow blizzard, but that meant the place was almost all to ourselves. It...More

It’s not just inconvenient I would say - but impossible to visit Villa Ephrussi when staying in Paris (it’s app 1000 km from Paris to Nice) unless you had your own helicopter ;-)
