If you are looking for something not "touristic" in the city center this is the place! Great view from a stylish balcony. Recommend to grab a couple of cocktail in the evening in this place and enjoy the view on the main cathedrals of the town and its beautiful port.

Ok. So if you want a little Jack Daniels in France (or the rest of Europe ) the size of the pour will make you cry. At least at this lovely little 2d floor bar the terrace view is so outstanding you just might forget a double here looks like a single at home.

After reading the good reviews, we stopped in for dinner on a Monday night. The server offered to seat us on the small balcony that overlooks the old port, but I couldn't handle sitting a foot away from a smoker. Sitting inside by a window with a great view, we ordered a couple of glasses of rosé. Our server also... More

Dear guest, you appreciated the restaurant-bar La Caravelle overlooking the Old Harbour, our light menu and wonderful wines that we propose at dinner time. Thank you very much for your full and nice commentary ! We hope you will have the opportunity, in a near future, to taste the big menu with typical provençal dishes proposed only in lunch time.... Very nice bar!! We had only coctails that were really good!!small tapas were coming all the time!!nothing special! The view was really good we were there at the sunset! Music and decoration and the yellow color of the sun was making it a bar from old times!! I would visit it for sure! Prices were ok!

As a bar La Caravelle deserves certainly a visit (good viewpoint on 'le vieux port', good beer). But do not even think to go there for lunch! After more thant 40mn waiting for someone to take care of you, you are at risk of beeing asked to leave your table because of a booking error...

On our first day in Marseille we wandered along to the Old Port in search of some lunch. I'm so glad we spotted this place and managed to avoid the tourist traps. We sat down at a lovely table on the balcony with a great view - it felt really special. The waiter was friendly and the service was good.... More

For a one night stay in Marseille we had booked a room at Hôtel Bellevue on Quai du Port. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find a nice bar next to the reception on the first floor, offering commanding views on the old harbour (“Vieux Port” ) and the church of Notre Dame de la Garde through the open... Early evening drink in the bar, a plate of charcuterie, cocktail or rose wine - perfect way to spend a lazy evening. Beware it gets very busy later in the evening so come early! Seriously cool views over the port, slightly kitch old style decor but it's a classic. Music nights are good too and lunch or brunch. Simple food... More

Booking in advance to get a table on the terrace and there you go : for a drink, lunch in fall, dinner in the summer, La Caravelle gives you an incredible and romantic view on this lively part of Marseille. From above. In the inside, you still have cosy table to drink Mojitos.

Dear guest, the superb view across the Old Harbour, facing Notre Dame de la Garde basilica and the authentic old fashioned atmosphere contribute to make the restaurant-bar La Caravelle so pleasant. We were recommended to this restaurant by a friend who lives in Orange but grew up in Marseille. The restaurant is situated on the first floor of the Hotel Bellevue and therefore does not have tables out on the street and its entrance can be missed quite easily if you are not careful. The place is wonderfully old fashioned as... More
