For anyone interested in modern domestic architecture, this is a must. Fairly easy to get to - metro, then bus - this iconic building is open to the public free on the 3rd & 4th floors and the roof terrace. The massive supporting pillars are...More

A brutalist architecture at its best. Now almost a well worked gigantic jewel cum A 380: materials, proportions, discrete intervallic spaces, colours, human scale, elevation, view from the terrace, inserted carriage, quality that was not expensive to effect and is at present artisanal quality. There...More

I have been coming to Marseille for 35 years and this was my first visit to La Cite Radieuse. 10 euros for a guided tour by a very knowledgeable guide was great value for money. Fascinating to see a project started in 1947 completed in...More

there's not much access, only 3+4 level and rooftop, but it's nice and impressive to see in reality. To get inside a flat you need to reserve in advance. Restaurant is super expensive, but for coffee it has a lovely view. Also the rooftop, which...More

We parked our rental car for 15 minutes in the public car park by the Unite D'habitation a week ago, June 2017. Everything locked in the boot, nothing visible, car locked. We returned to find the back window smashed and everything stolen from the boot...More

Cite Radieuse Le Corbusier is part of everyday existence but architecture lovers celebrate it as a piece of art of a building designed by architect Le Corbusier.

Because this place has not been turned into a museum but is still 'just' an appartment block/flat where regular people live, one can still see very well what Le Corbusier had in mind. It is basically as it was when built - in reasonable shape...More

Visitors can go up to the third and fourth floors to see the building from the inside. This gives a good impression of the dimensions of the rest of the building. Visitors can also go up to the roof which is interesting in itself but...More

It is not actually a complex building with a shopping arcade, a hotel, restaurants and a school. No entrance fee and you can enjoy the great view on the roof. A must go for people who studies architecture.

It is free and open. It's a building that people live and work in. Go to the entrance underneath the centre of the building and sign the visitor book. You can go to floors 3, 4 and the roof.

No, I don't think that you have to pay. I didn't test this myself, because I waited for the guide. There are security men in the lobby but I'm pretty sure that the roof, and the communal shopping floor (most of the shops are... More
