Fabulous time on the lake. We took the extended cruise and got off at the second stop and had lunch before reboarding for the return. I have to say that I love boat trips so I am prejudiced in advance. It was wonderful.

Just simply walking around the lake is a breathtaking experience. Very romantic and photogenic. If you get a chance take a boat cruise for an hour or more. Have camera on hand, many good photo opportunities.

You can view the gardens, stroll along the many paths, bike and jog all the way around if you can go that far. Lots of benches for people watching.

Sorry about the delay in replying - I've just seen your message. It is about 1hr and 45 mins to Annecy town from Lyon. The town surprised us as the old part is genuinely beautiful but Annecy is like a city, with high rises... More

It's cyclable with excellent cycle tracks. Very hilly at opposite end to Annecy town so be prepared for a few walks! Someone we spoke to did it in 4.5 hours.
