Les Gorges du Fier is definitely worth a visit - it's beautiful to walk through. We were there towards the end of August and went early in the morning which I would recommend to avoid the heat of the day. It's also better to go...More

A must see site, suitable for all age groups, whether in sunny or rainy days. The access to the Gorges is quite easy, and just 10-15 minutes drive from Annecy.

Absolutely worth a visit. If you don't like stairs make sure you go to the big car park where the buses go. The advice of the website to allocate an hour is about right although we spent a bit more. Sensible walking shoes needed although...More

This was a great day out, and one I would happily recommend. It was pouring with rain, which only added to the experience. I would recommend some pretty decent waterproofs in this eventuality - we only had cheap plastic ponchos, but it was fine. The...More

Great scenery walking along the raised footway attached to the walls of the gorge. Whilst we visited in September I would imagine that at other times of the year the rush of the water below would be even more spectacular. Relatively cheap €26 for the...More

The Gorges du Fier is a great experience just outside Annecy. We visited on a sunny dry day but as the website suggested we wore our walking boots. This is highly recommended as its is not just a stroll it is an adventurous walk. At...More

If you are in the area and looking for an inexpensive half day out, then consider this, unless you suffer from vertigo! Nice stroll along the gorge.

We had intended to go to Chamoix , but the logistics wouldn't allow on public transport, so we looked on Trip advisor and found this. We booked a taxi from Annecy to take us and it was Euros 30 for 4 of us. This is...More

Can't be of much help on the subject. When I visited Gorges du Fier, I don't recall seeing any taxis around. If you are already visiting Annecy, you can enquire there. But, it'll definitely be more than a few Euros.

It is a bit complicated, but it is possible to go to the Gorges du Fier by bus. However, it should be noted that the number of buses that go there is VERY limited. There are two options : First option, take bus #1 or #6... More
