If you want to do the most popular hikes in Chamonix, you have to deal w this lift. There is always a wait to get down/up. The bus doesn't serve so frequently, so don't forget the train which is just a 2 blocks across.

Best if you are skiing as it is pricey if you're not. Staff kept things moving along Lines get pretty long later in the day so plan on a long wait or leave a bit early (we did) to beat the crowds.

Great way to get to trailheads for beautiful hikes. Easy and quick. visit the tourist information center first to get a map of the trails.

So we were there in half term - queues not surprising then. But it took AGES to get down. French dudes singing lightened the mood. But still could have been better

So I know for sure you can get a pass on line. You need to look at the Chamonix cable car website. compagniedumontblanc if it is open then look at the site. Enjoy the place. I love going there!
