Wow. Spectacular views of the Chamonix Valley and unbelievable terrain. We weren't there when they had fresh snow, but I can only imagine what a day at Les Grands Montets would be like on a powder day. Big bowls, great steeps and heaps of big mountain tingles. Amazing place for folks who like to ski blacks and double blacks. Also... More

We only ended up here after staying on the ski bus when seeing the other lift stops so busy, so glad we did! It is amazing, there's so much more here than the piste map suggests, and the views are just out of this world. We were there right in the middle of half term week, and never waited more... More

Topping out at nearly 11,000 feet and with a stellar view of the Mont Blanc massif and Chamonix valley from that height, Les Grands Montets is Chamonix's most celebrated ski area. With its 6500 foot vertical drop, over 4700 acres of skiable terrain, and some of the best steeps in the region, Les Grands Montets is for those seeking a... More

One of the biggest skiing zones. Pretty high to have good quality snow at all time. Good choice of blue, red and black pistes.

We hired a guide for Mont Blanc, and after we summited, he took us here the next day. Fun ridge to play on and good practice place for crampon and ice axe climbing. Mixed rock and ice. Great day!

We lucked out. Some serious snow fall the previous week meant we were able to book a guide on our last day and spend the whole afternoon skiing off piste .. The area was lovely.. some 'secret' locations known to local skiers. We booked a guide through our holiday rep and it all worked out v well! Highly recommend. It... More

The snow was dreadful and whilst i understand that you cannot control the weather there was very little being done to make artificial snow. Lots of rocks poking through and very icy conditions with only a handful of runs open. On the face of it Chamonix is a huge area but it is made up with a number of smaller... More

went skiing last week of December; plenty of snow but too icy and crowded; AVOID it when the locals tell you its icy.

My husband and I visited for a long weekend 17th and 18th December. We had a lovely weekend of skiing where it was clear that the staff had been working to ensure good snow coverage for that area. We covered what was possible, easily and we had fun. It was marred slightly by the rudeness of one lady on our... More
