I love to visit crystal shops, small local museums, and such. I went to this local museum, thinking it might have a few things of interest, and I was bowled over by the quality of the local Mt Blanc gemstones I saw here. The VERY VERY rare rouge (pinkish red) fluorite, the incredible green crystals (chlorite in crystals), and the... More

There wasn't very much to see apart from a lot of quartz. We went round it in less than 10 minutes but it was something to do after getting off the train. I think your time would be better going straight down to the ice cave

Two great exhibitions in one. Huge display of truly stunning natural crystals combined with brilliant exhibition on the history of mountaineering in the area. The later was cleverly brought to life with top class photography, video footage and a range of hands-on exhibits. Most bizarre fact; the fastest time for scaling the 4800m high Mon-Blanc starting from and returning to... More

really enjoyed this museum . not expensive and good on a damp day . the mountaineering museum is part of the crystal museum and was amazing with interactive areas and films of how the huts and restaurants at the top of mountains were built

Judging by some of the comments below, there appears to be some confusion as to what this museum is called ! (And not for the first time on TripAdvisor). Small modern museum with interesting facts about climbing various peaks, interactive and quite fun for children and adults alike. There is also an excellent exhibition of smoked quartz and stones.

If you are an enthousiast about stones and cristals, this is a nice museum. It was rather small though and in some sections there was no information in English.

Crystals from the Mont Blanc area, fascinating colors, sizes, and variety. Good for kids, but with parents along to explain things if you're English only speakers. Be sure to visit the other half of the museum: The Alpine Museum. Local kids were having a guide through and seemed to be enjoying that as well.
