This old town is quaint and picturesque. We found it disappointingly dull. Not as vibrant as Eze in Italy with little to see beyond the handful of buildings. Took us an hour from Lyon. Not worth the ride, but fine if you are in the area. Came with a Viking Cruise tour.

Absolutely delightful little village . We fell in love with it . So well preserved. It was easy to imagine how life would have been in that period . Must visit if you are in Lyon or surrounding area . If there is only one beaux village one could visit this could easily be the one .

My sister in law suggested and insisted we visit this place. We drove from Lyon for an hour to get to this historical medieval town. The place is very well preserved and it is very beautiful. All houses and town center are the to five hundred years old. Nice place to visit. For historical value I suggest any tourist to... More

This was a wonderful place to wander around and absorb yourself in the medieval citie of Perouges. We drove there from Lyon (less than 30 mins), parked in the parking provided and walked in. Stunning from the get go. The cobbled roads, the amazing cottages and houses were fascinating to view. Was a beautiful way to get a glimpse of... More

Walled and perched on a small hill, it is a very well preserved medieval village. Mostly pedestrian. All constructions have the typical yellowish stones of the region. In April the village was so empty and shops mostly closed. A tradional paper production shop was open and we loved visting it. It shows the process and sells its production. Generally speaking... Hello, if you want to visit the town in april it's better not to come a wednesday because quite all the shops are closed. Because we don't have a lot of people this day. The week end and holidays, quite everything is open, as in june/july/august and september. Thank you for your coming. Have a nice day More

We visited Perouges and were impressed with the well-preserved medieval architecture, and the fact that any remodeling has to meet standards to keep the ancient appearance of the village. We visited a couple of the small shops, found them very "knicky-knacky," but enjoyed sampling a gallette. A Nice visit!

a commune, in the French sense, it's smaller than a village, that is very charming in the old world atmosphere. We spent the night there arriving late afternoon, time to wander around before dinner, the waitresses were in traditional costumes.

Very nice, well preserved medieval town close to Lyon. Well worth a detour, one to two hours should be enough..

Unless you are staying somewhere in the Ain, Savoie or Haute-Savoie departments I wouldn't suggest taking time out of your trip to see Perouges. It is an interesting city, due to the fact that it still looks like it did in the Middle Ages and is still inhabited. They make you pay for parking, but my cousin parked in the... More

Hello, it is totally forbidden to park on the coach park. Even if you think that you are alone a lot of coaches can arrive and they won't have a way to park somewhere else. You are risking a big fine too. If the parking is at 2€ it is to offer to the visitors services like free toilets, animations... More

A lovely small village with shops and restaurants. We went when it was raining which was not so good as there is not public sheltered areas
