Purely amazing that this ancient roman theatre is still in such excellent shape. It was unfortunate that we had very bad weather when we were there.....cold, rain and with snow - couldn't stay too long to enjoy this amphitheatre. We took the train up the...More

One of the treasures and must see stops in Vienne is the Roman Theater. Built about 45 CE, this wonderful theater is still in use today for plays and the ever popular, summer jazz festival. In its early life this was likely one of the...More

This was a wonderful experience. The Theatre Antique is an 8,000 seat Roman Amphitheatre on a hill overlooking Vienne. It has a modern outdoor stage but has left untouched the original theatre seating...so you're sitting on ancient stone benches as you watch a show. We...More

A must see roman theater that is still being used. It has all the elements of a theater: Monymental back drop, seatings and back of theater.

Excellent question. I recommend that you contact the venue directly and see if the reserve by row or if it is first come, first served. I would call them, 04 74 78 87 87 and ask.
