Lovely little tram/train to the top, amazing views on the way up and very reasonable (€4 return) Top tip, if you are there on holiday, try to avoid going there on a weekend, as it gets very, very busy. We went initially on a Sunday and couldn't even get parked. We returned the following morning and had the train to... More

We went on a sunny Sunday lunchtime and there was a long queue. Tip -get someone to stand in the queue whilst someone else goes for the tickets. It's easy to stand in the queue thinking it's for the tickets when it's for the train. I suppose there is difficulty in translation. It's not a cable car but a funicular... More

You have the option to ride up and down the mountain (price now is about 3 Euro for the round trip), or you can walk up and ride down or vice versa. Nice walking area with options to go different directions. Many people had their bikes and dogs on the trail. The day we were there hang gliders were coming... More

A lovely short train ride to the top of the mountain, just a 30 minute walk from the centre of Baden Baden.

It was an excellent trip on a cold and sunny February morning. There is ample parking place outside the Talstation where you have to get the tickets for the funicular to go up the mountains. It takes about 3 to 4 minutes and pretty steep. On the top is a nice cafe and eatery and great view of the Black... More

Our primary trip to Baden Baden was for the spa. The Merkurbergbahn is a real short drive from town and totally worth the trip. The funicular is very steep and the ride takes a few minutes. The technology used to get up the hill is amazing. The views are spectacular. There are many hikes once you are up on the... More

A little hard to find from centre of town and a good walk for the fit! Once you get to the top of the mountain the views are amazing. We went on a cold snowy day and was great to see families with small children using sleds to get back down. Plenty of hiking. Would love to go back in... More

Nice excursion with excellent few over Baden-Baden. A great experience to take the small railway to the top of the mountain. Good restaurant on top of the mountain with local Baden food.
