The Small Brother of the Blue ritch parkway. If you love nature, want to see many different spectacluar sights and all this with your car you have to drive this beautifull street. You find the possibility to walk on top of the trees, find nice lakes, See the disturbing Power of a big Storm or only take different wide views... More

This drive coincides with the B500 highway from Baden-Baden to Freudenstadt and is a wonderfully beautiful drive passing through the Black Forest. I strongly recommend stopping at Lake Mummelsee and taking a stroll on one of the forest trails. There are many of them rising moderately (easy enough for my pregnant wife to finish) that take you up to a... More

From Freudenstadt to Baden-Baden - a great road to travel along at leisurely pace. Have plenty of stops to take in all the views or allow more time for the odd round- walk, e.g. at the Ruhestein or Mummelsee. Best in Autumn, but avoid winter when all the ski lifts are going.

Traveled the entire high road (B500) from Baden-Baden Freudenstadt, and would love to do it again. It is absolutely spectacular. Well-maintained roads and epic scenery is what its all about, with some stunning panoramic views towards the Rhine River and France. We stopped in Mummelsee to get some kirschwasser souvenirs and admire the view. You can also get authentic cuckoo... More

Traveled south from Forbach to Triberg on a fall day. We took a million pictures. Amazing! Scenic overviews are everywhere and many have information signs.

One of the most scenic roads in Germany and with lots of delicious restaurants along the way. It's worth spending several days and hike up and down to the various lakes and hidden monestaries.

Although taking this road makes the way to the southern black forest a little longer, it is stunning- obviously preferably on a sunny day - and every stop along the way worths it, where the main stop should be at lake mummelsee. Well maintained road, and the driver is fortunate, because speed limitations allow him to stare at the view... More

Even on a dull grey day, driving the Hochstrasse was great fun - for the passengers who enjoyed the variety of wonderful views, and for the driver as a challenge to concentrate on the road! Despite the clouds we had terrific views into France and would love to go back on a clear day.
