A nice place to bring visitors when you're broke. Plus, there are monkeys!

Seriously, there are monkeys. I've gone a few times when I had visitors who wanted to do boring family stuff and I didn't feel like forking out for an expensive day out... read more

It's free to visit and has some wild animals to look at. However, some animals don't look very healthy, I hope they get enough food and care.

This 'zoo' mostly houses farm animals, but has some other more exotic species. All animals have lots of space and good living conditions. The zoo itself is very spread out and feels a bit dead. That being said, entry is free and it makes a nice afternoon if you are looking for something to do.

Seriously, there are monkeys. I've gone a few times when I had visitors who wanted to do boring family stuff and I didn't feel like forking out for an expensive day out. There's plenty to see and it's all for free. It's hard to argue with seeing monkeys for free.

This one is perfectly for Familys with children or for couples. Even if it's raining you could go and have fun.

Free admission, just pay to park. Grounds were a bit dirty. Overcrowded with tourist. People not following the signs to not feed the animals. Several of the animals can be petted. Make sure you come prepared with hand sanitizer! Bathrooms are far apart. Playgrounds throughout the area. Several types of animals to see. More fun for families with young children.... More

In terms of number of exotic animals, Mundenhof can't quite compete with a regular commercial zoo. I liked that many of the fenced areas for the animals were quite large, which creates more space for the animals. As someone else said, this place is more a wildlife park than a zoo. Still, this is a very nice place, with a... More

We spent half a day in Mundenhof with our 3 yrs old grandson. He loved it. There were many different animals living in the open. An excellent place for children of all ages. Also the restaurant on the site is good and inexpensive.

Free of charge zoo and park, only the parking fee was 5€. There is few play areas, restaurant, toilets and plenty of space to just sit down or have a picnic etc. You can bring your own food and drinks. You can get into few cages, where is small animals for children too see and touch. Overall good place

Great visit at this open and free zoo with local animals and plenty of space. The bier garten is also convenient with children

Right outside of Freiburg, this place is nice to walk around in, and quite cheap too - you'll pay only 5 Euros for the parking. The area is huge, requires a lot of walking, and you can see many animals (mostly domesticated mammals like Llamas, cows, chickens, but also Deer, fish in an aquarium, birds and even a bear) roam...
