My wife and recently traveled to Germany and I was obsessed with getting a traditional, handmade cuckoo clock. After tons of research, I decided on Oli's shop in Triberg, in the heart of the Black Forest where the clocks originated. I was not disappointed. Before...More

We visited Triberg in May. Like most of you, we had done our homework about what a "real" cuckoo clock was. The clock is made of 100% wood, other than the clockworks which are brass and steel. No plastic - none. The cuckoo is a...More

I have been coming to see Oli since he opened the shop. The clocks that are produced there are part of a team effort and only produced within the Triberg/Schonach area, unlike others that are sold by other shops locally. You cannot go wrong here:...More

Great place to be educated about the cukoo clock and its production. Local carvers are at work during the day. A variety of clocks for varied tastes. The sales staff will explain the difference between mass-produced (not obvious) and hand carved. A lot of fun...More

We went to Oli's on the recommendation of a friend. It's a small store with beautiful clocks homemade by Oli and his team. No gimmicks, no machine presses, just beautifully hand carved. An older lady greeted us as soon as we walked in and told...More

The staff was very helpful. She explained clock features and how to identify a quality clock. The carver has a workshop on the first floor. House of 1,000 Clocks is larger, but felt much more commercialized - Shop at Oli's instead.

A wide selection of handmade clocks from Triberg. If you want an authentic clock, not mass produced, come here! The woman who was there today was extremely helpful and informative.

You'll have to call Oli to find out, but I HIGHLY doubt he will be. Virtually nothing is open in Germany on Christmas day.
