The old part of the romantic city is beautiful with most of the buildings made in the 17th Century. Our guide was very informative and we enjoyed walking on the bridge.

When doing the sight seeing in the old town of Heidelberg the "old bridge" is one of the must photo stops.

My visit to Heiligenberg was a surprise and did not disappoint. We ended our visit to Heidelberg here. It was nearly tourist free and had a wonderful few of the city and surrounding forest. I would consider this a hidden treasure.

I'm not sure why they're referring to the bridge here, because this site refers to the mountain on the other side of the river. There's a lot to see there and it's worth the hike up there. Spend a half day up there and take...More

The day we visited, scaffolding was being erected for some refurbishment. The gate is only something to look at. It's not like you can do anything, like go up in it. Save your legs for the castle if you are inclined!

I don't know why there's a picture of the Alte Brucke gate for the Heiligenberg, which is on the other side of the river and many hundreds of meters higher. You can get there by foot (or even bicycle if you're ambitious) via the Philosophenweg,...More

This entire mountain (hill) is great. So much cultural history here, not to mention great terrain for hiking and trail running. This place is one of my favorite in Heidelberg.

Nice walk across the bridge into Heidelberg under the double tower entryway. We were there before Christmas walking around, enjoying the markets and photos at night. Try the restaurants facing the water.
