Nice traditional church

The church is typical German Kirche and we could the second half of an organ concert (and hence, paid only 2 euro instead of 4). Worth walking in while at Marktplatz

This church is perfectly located right in the center of Heidelberg and is the clear landmark for visiting. It is beautiful and truly the center of the city.

The "Heiligengeist Kirche" is the central church in Charming Heidelberg, of course on the "Marktplatz". I an convinced that this church is worth a visit, but the entrance to the main part of the church was barred, because of a rehearsal of a Passion concert for Easter. I spotted some nice frescoes from a distance. Hopefully next time in Heidelberg... More

For 2 euros each we climbed the. Steps up the turret to take in the stunning views out over all of Heidelberg. The church itself was pretty, very modern in some ways even though it was built in 1426 as it has unusual modern stain glasses windows. The circular ever upward narrow stone stair case reveals fantastic views from the... More

This church is nice, but doesn't take long to look at. I thought that the inside was impressive, and was intrigued by all the little shops that appeared to be built right up against its exterior walls.

2 euros to go to the top and see glorious views of the city! Steep walk up with lots of steps but well worth it. The church tour is free and very nice.

After seeing so many cathedrals during our visit to Germany, this Church was a big shocker as it was so plain and almost modern in it's interior design. No color, carvings or statues and very cold, stern feeling while inside the structure. Interesting change from the normal.

We always visit the churches. This one is very beautiful on the outside architecture . The inside is surprisingly simple architecture. Worth the walk through.

It was nearly closing time when i came and it looks gloomy in my opinion. Regardless the history it has, it is better (in my opinion) to see it during sunny day

Located on one end of the Marktplatz, opposite the Rathaus, this is the largest church in Heidelberg.Built in the 16th century, it is Gothic in style. It was plundered numerous times by opposing forces who carried off most of its treasures. One of its highlights are the very ugly gargoyles. Worth a visit but nothing special.
