Turmberg is one of the places that are worth visiting. The view is great. There are stairs and benches where you can sit and chill while watching the sunset. It would be good if there were any shops or restaurants but I didn't see.

Despite the area being busy with tourists the funicular was not running. This was a feature of the entire city most attractions only being open at weekends. Anyway the staircase was never ending and the stairs in a dangerously poor condition

Take the tram out to Durlach from Karlsruhe. Once there you can see Turmberg castle up on the hill. Walk towards it through town and you'll come to a tram/gondola that goes up the hill (it costs a few euro) or use google maps to...More

We made a special effort to arrive here near sunset! It was definitely worth it and the many couples there made it obvious that it's a must see spot!

This is actually two attractions, because we took a funicular from Durlach to the base of the tower. We found a coupon for this in a brochure and paid 1 euro each for both funicular and tower. There are many steps to the top, so...More

Turmberg castle was mostly destroyed by invaders, but the tall lookout tower has been preserved. It is a great scenic walk by many, many steps up to the base of the tower (or there is a ride provided for a fee). The walk is good...More

Beautiful views, on a clear day you can see forever. Nice play area for kids. Have seen the rope walkways, not had a chance to try it yet. But definitely is on the 'To Do' list.

Visited this location during my most recent visit to Germany. You can see for miles from the top of the tower. Great place to get exercise climbing stairs! Simply beautiful way to spend an hour or more.

Turmberg offers a beautiful view of the city and the rhine river. It is hard to catch the view with the camera, but it's worth seeing. In additon, the road to turmberg and the surroundings is also a great piece of nature.
