My wife and I recently stayed in Garmisch at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort (The Army Hotel) this past December. It is true that the Army hotel does offer some version of some of the same tours Jake offers for a little less money, but do not be mislead Jakes tours are extremely affordable and will completly blow any group... 2 words.....Hire Jake! What an awesome day my sisters and I had! Jake picked us up at the Hotel Edelweiss at 8:30 am. Right on time. Went to Neuschwanstein castle. Jake knows everyone and also where to park, where the bathrooms are, etc but even better than that is his astonishing KNOWLEDGE of history and his enthusiasm for sharing it!!!... More

Jake made our tours of Linderhof, Oberammergau and Neuschwanstein one of the best days of our vacation in Germany. His knowledge of German history along with his story telling ability makes the day extremely enjoyable. I would recommend him for this tour and plan on taking advantage of his other tours when I return to Bavaria.

Jake is probably the most personable and friendly 'guide' I've ever met, who owns an incredible knowledge of Bavarian history and much much more. He doesn't just tell you what happened in history, he narrates the stories with such passion and animation it makes the stories come alive. I also got to know that he took our current Singapore President... More

We spent an entire day with Jake, visiting Linderhof Palace, touring Oberammergau village (along with time for shopping), and a tour of the Ettal Monastery. We asked Jake to pick us up in Munich and he was there exactly on time. We enjoyed a great ride in his spacious passenger van to Linderhof Palace. Then, it was on to the... More

I would like to second the recent review by Kathy H. I was on this trip as well with Jake. He was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the region of Bavaria and was an excellent storyteller as well. He kept the trip punctual and at a good pace, but also allowed us time to enjoy the sites and locations.... More

As a family of adults in Germany on vacation we arranged for Jake to take us on a tour from Munich to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and had a wonderfully engaging & personal history lesson with tour of Neuschwanstein Castle. Jake suggested things for the remainder of our stay too! Highly recommend his services - we enjoyed his company and every minute of... More

Storytelling is a cornerstone of human existence, and it's what enables some people to communicate and connect with anyone. Jake is a masterful storyteller with a wealth of knowledge about European history. You are drawn in from the second you board the van. Every part of the day was well planned and presented to perfection. Loved it!

I'm not sure I can say enough nice things about Jake. His tours are very personal. They are chock-full of history. If all you want to do is see the basic sites. This is not the tour for you. But, if you want to know more in depth of why certain things are where they are why castles are where... More

I spent three years stationed in Germany while in the army and thought I knew my way around. We took three tours with Jake and learned more about Germany than I did in the tree years I lived there. The tours were customized to our wants. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. I will definably be calling Jake,.
