Love love love this town. Great restaurants. Great walks with kids great amenities i.e. Swimming pool for next to no money though the lady on reception at the pool a little scary 😄. Partnach gorge a definite must do. The pedestrian area of the town has fantastic restaurants and catered to well for children. And they could run around and... More

I brought this upon myself...I had one day to snowboard, and it was in the middle of a very wet, snowy blizzard. The snowboarding was miserable, but at least I had the slopes to myself. The scenery, as much as I could see in the blinding snow, was beautiful. There were also many places in which I could take a... More

We like the runs as they are quite diverse in skill level. If you're a beginner, you're going to be overwhelmed on the blue slopes. Do you're best to get away from these as soon as possible to enjoy the slopes.

Amazing to ski in the clouds!! The slopes were groomed to packed powder, due to the time of the year and warm temperatures, they prepared the slopes well. Amazing time!

It's fantastic when the snow comes but it is a low level resort so it can be snowless particularly in January. The Winter season used to start on 23rd Dec but now it is best to wait until at least 1st Feb. Many of the mountain huts and bars are closed in Jan and the Tourist Office site hides this... More

Easily reached by train from Munich. Plenty of hotels, restaurants and bars. Excellent ski facility for beginners and intermediates. Great ski school and reasonably priced hire and lift pass

Some of the routes here seem reasonably technically challenging, but there's not much for genuine beginners who have never skied before. A lot of the blue routes here are either impossible to access without braving much more difficult red routes or are really crowded and incorrectly rated for their difficulty for new skiers. This paucity of reasonable blues and no... More

The ski area isn't huge but ok for a weekend. There were quite big queues at the hausbergbahn gondola so you need to be there early , before ski schools or later. We drove to the next station, kreuzeckbahn which seemed quieter. you can catch a train from hausbergbahn to go to Zugspitze. We couldn't go up Zugspitze because of... More

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a beautiful, idyllic town with some fun ski runs. Do your research before you arrive because the trail and lift systems can be hard to decipher and the lobbies are very crowded. The lifts also get very crowded on the weekends, and the culture at this place seems to be (instead of politely waiting your turn) the most... More

The great thing about this place is that there are three ski areas although sadly there is no link between the Zugspitzer and the other areas. The queues were a bit bad at the weekend. Our 3 year old had lessons and they were amazing. She was able to ski down a small slope after one lesson! Skiing is always... More
