At first we taught: what could be so interesting at a market? But being so close to Marieplatz (1 min walk) we gave it a try. And wow what a lovely place! Fresh local products, but also international fresh products ( for example, I bought pecorino romano cheese that I only found in Italy in our prior trips). My husband... More

The market has plenty of lovely stalls offering all sorts of fresh produce and street food. The are also two good seafood restaurants on the markets and many other restaurants around the market. Great place for a sit down with a drink or some food and to people watch.

This is the local daily market opened Monday to Saturday. Stayed at Derag Livingston hotel right on the Viktualienmarkt. Enjoyed coffee in the market and roaming thru to see all the farm stands and food vendors. You can eat your way thru this market or shop for fresh produce, fish and meats if you're at an apartment and have access... More

The apartment I rented for my week in Munich is just a block south of the Viktualienmarkt, so I walk through at least twice a day. The variety of stalls is impressive - spices, jams, meat and fish, cheese, coffee, craft items, flowers, etc. There are also several food stalls offering a variety of traditional Bavarian food. The city keeps... More

Made this market a daily stop. Good coffees at the far end & lovely fresh juice for breakfast. Buy some cheese or a sausage and a roll and enjoy a casual lunch in the beer garden to rest your feet. Toilets (clean) are in the building near the beer hut on the side; downstairs. You need to put a small... More

After spending a little time at the Glockenspiel I wondered back here to see what all was around. It's an amazing market with all kinds of stuff that would be fairly hard for a tourist to bring home :) The biergarten is well priced and placed to people watch. I washed down breakfast with a 1L of Hoffbrau and proceeded... More

Lots of shops selling fruits, plants, decor, wines, food and so much more. The whole place has a great atmosphere. It is lively with locals and tourist alike. There is a biergarten in the center and many other small places around to grab a bite. We enjoyed our afternoon walking around and having a great lunch.

This place is perfect for the food lovers! Except fruits, decorations and plants you can find here places where you can eat sea food, typical local snacks and many others. Ratio of price/quality is good too. I would recommend this place for the people who prefer food tourism and/or budget travelers.

Locals and Tourists can be found here. There are lots of craft shops and delicious smelling stands. There is also a nice tea stand with a vast and diverse collection. There is also a honey shop with local honeys. They make bee wax candles, honey wine, etc. There is limited seating for so many food stands so make sure you... More
