If you are in the center of Munich you need to at least walk through the Viktualienmarkt. Some of the shops seem a little touristy, but it is fun to walk around some of the craft stores and vegetable stands. There are many options for...More

One of the nights in Munich we decided to get different local food for dinner and we got everything at the market. From fruits to cured meats to breads to vegetables to cheeses to sweets, they were all top quality and delicious. We had fun...More

There are SO many options for food stalls and shops, but there is also a nice courtyard area where people get a drink and hang out, which was really nice. The area is lovely and right in the center of things. It is definitely worth...More

Between the 30 or 40 stalls of food (Sandwiches, pretzels with or without filling, cold cuts, paninis, turkish food, nuts, ...) and goods (tourist mementos, local goods, ...), there is an amazing feeling of relaxation and enjoyment of being outside. Just watch everybody eat in...More

If, like me, you find yourself looking at all of the local markets when abroad, then this is a great place to take a wander. Plenty of local produce, all nicely displayed and cafes and bars to visit as well.

A cool market where you can eat, drink, taste the local culture. The only thing you shoul consider is that is very crowded, always, so be on your toes to get a table. The beer is greatn the food delicious the people relaxed and cheerful.

Simply put in a city of superlatives, this public space is one of my top tier favorites for not only access to liquid and solid carbs but also people watching. I make stopping at the ViktualienArkt one of the first things I do when arriving...More

If you enjoy food, you need to visit here! It's like a picnic smorgasbord. I walked the streets for awhile, picked up some landjager and smoked sausage before my hunger started to set in, so I stopped at one stand and bought some cheese for...More

I suspect you will be fine with whatever food you have, wherever you purchased it. We didn't see any "Viktualienmarkt police" enforcing rules. :-) It is a relaxed environment! Go buy some fruit, pastries, and have some... More
