I appreciated being accompanied from door to door on this excursion. They came to my hotel and escorted us via public transportation to the camp. Along the way we received a narrative about the camp and he answered questions about the camp and Munich. Once there, I received a lot of information about the daily distended of prisoners and what... More

We took this tour with James last week. From the first email, he proved himself to be an excellent communicator. He was very responsive, met us at our hotel right on time. His tour began immediately, providing us background on the rise of Hitler and the NAZI party. Once we arrived at the memorial, in addition to his impressive research... More

We had a private tour with James and highly recommend this tour. James is Australian and English is his native language. He gives an excellent overview of Hitler's rise to power, and he has a deep understanding of Dachau and the Nazi system. He explained the most important aspects and then also have you time to read the information at... More

James Burgess was excellent! He arrived at our hotel at 9am and we travelled with him to Dachau. On route he started to cover the history of Hitler's uprising and throughout the day provided us with an incredible insight into the camp, those associated with it and the timeline surrounding its existence. We travelled back together and James was kind... More

Took this trip in June 15. Was just going through old stuff from the trip from Canada and found the card. The experience seemed a bit odd at first. Meet up in a train station and some guy will take you to the camp. Was well worth it! We were able to get as much time as needed to see... More

We had a private tour of Dachau Memorial with Mat Bruffell. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for a moving, in-depth, professional and respectful look into this dark history. Mat was an exceptional guide. He not only described the history of the camp specifically, but provided a comprehensive look at the Nazi rise to power/downfall... More

Well worth a visit to pay respects and try to take in the scale of the whole operation. It was a 4 hr tour with an extremely knowledgeable guide at a very reasonable price. Steel yourself for the part containing the crematoria and mass burial sites. Not for the faint hearted. Lest we forget ! X

The tour itself was fabulous. Our guide had so much knowledge about Dachau and included some stories about the people who were there and tried to escape. There is so much history at this site! The tour started in Munich, we took a 20 min train ride to Dachau and then a 10 min bus to the concentration camp. As... More

Patti and I were privileged to have James Burgess as our guide for the Dachau Memorial Tour. We were the only ones to be with him so it was a bonus to have such personal interaction with him. He picked us up at our hotel in Munich at 0900 and we went with him on public transportation to Dachau. We... More

Our tour of Dachau led by James Burgess was intense informative and so worthwhile. He accompanied us on the Metro, shared his knowledge of Munich, guided us on the bus to Dachau itself. HE was very well informed on the camp and what went on there. But it was the passion he communicated to us that was his forte. He... More
