This place was rockin when we went there. Lots of people and the beer was flowing. They have a great wheat beer to go along with some really good food. The service was outstanding and the food was served in short order. This is one of the oldest brewery's around and worth the time to explore and enjoy.

Vast Restaurant. Very typical German, pork and dumplings with sauerkraut are the main staples. Excellent professional service, good choice of own brew beer. One of the best places to have your first Münich beer hall experience. Hofbräuhaus is overrated. Augustiner is better.

I popped in here to sample a beer on my first visit to Munich. Basically, find yourself a seat, make a point of looking a the beer list while trying to catch the eye of a waiter. When he/she approaches, order. You don't go to the bar and order, as in the UK, it all served up. Pretty basic place,... More

Took a colleague from out of town into Munich for the evening. The place is very atmospheric - esp if you go into the back rooms. The beer was excellent - it is the local favourite - not without reason. But the food.... well the free pretzels were great - fresh, but we ordered Wild Boar - and it was... More

Very nice place, not so big like the main Aungustiner house, but pretty and well decorated german beer place. The main reason to visit it, off course is to drink the excellent Augustiner beer. It worth the visit, I will come back!

If you're a tourist in München you should definitely drop by and grab some food or at least a beer. Quick service. Personally my favorite bavarian beer so far.

It's hard to describe - it's traditional. typical Bavarian, iconic, also a bit dressed up and touristy... but that doesn't matter as the food and beer are quite good. The place has a medieval look and layout, and the seating is canteen style. It's always busy with the locals besides being a tourist attraction, and you're likely to have to... More

Great Location, great service, great beers, great Bavarian food and atmosphere at a great price. Step our server, with all the awesome tattoos, was very patient explaining the menu to us and helping find the perfect beers for each individual's taste. Our first dining experience in Munich for this working/vacation was a home run in our eyes.

6 of us had dinner on a Sunday evening. We did not have reservations but were able to walk in at dinner. We had a variety of Bavarian food served quickly. The food quality was good as was the gemutlicheit. I always try to eat at Augustine's when in Munich. It never disappoints
