The history of Nuremberg's rock-cut cellars - Southern Germany's biggest rock-cut cellar maze. Through many centuries, the citizens of Nuremberg have built vaults and corridors into the bright red sandstone below their city. In 1380, the widespread cellar system was mentioned in a document for the first time. In all those years, the cellars were primarily used for the ripening and storage of beer – mostly the city's famous red beer. Today, the craft brewery Hausbrauerei Altstadthof again uses a small part of the widespread maze-like cellar system to ripen and store specialty beers and beer schnaps. Of course, visiting the craft brewery and the whisky distillery will be part of the tours. Afterwards, there will be time to taste the local specialties in the brewery tavern. Just come around, it is worth a visit!

The place is huge, the atmosphere is fun and the food and bier are great. I believe this is the largest sausage place around in Nuremberg. It is in the Altstadt and convenient to alot of things.

This place often appears on the "must visit" listings in the travel sections of newspapers and after a recent visit this is entirely justified. The slight downside of this is that as it is such a small place and can be crowded at peak times....More

... in medieval times to drink beer was more healthy than drinking water? Sounds weird, I know. However, the reason why and much more you will learn when you visit Felsengänge Nuremberg. Enjoy

Good restaurant and brewery. You can taste the famous nurnberg sausages not only roasted as from the classice recipe but also with some beer sauce. You can also have salads.

Place with the old time spirit. We were only in a small pub, next time for sure we'll take more time to visit museum, eat and drink. We had a ''red'' beer. Nice , fresh, tasty.

This was one of the best pub/restaurants i have been to in Nuremberg. As any pub in Bavaria they brew their own beer 🍻. Amazing beer, good ambience and food Highly recommended folks!
