Medieval Mall

You will see craftspeople making hand-made products like pewter, glassware, basketwork, wood carvings, and toys. It's nice to walk around and visit the stores.

We enjoyed a short visit to the small craft stores. Just outside the old city, but within the city wall is a step back in time. We ate lunch there twice during our visit in December, a slower pace and away from the Christmas market hustle and bustle. Actually closer than appears on maps, only a short walk from the... More

Small square shaped alleyway with hand crafted goods, well made but on the expensive side. Quaint bar at entrance with locals and tourists.

Came to the Christmas market and chanced upon this gem. There are just a few shops, run by the crafters, who are so proud of their work! Did more shopping there than at Christmas markets. Especially loved the pewter shop, where I met the crafter.

Beautiful cobbled courtyard housing a variety of craft workshops. Cute little traditional shops selling lovely handmade items from pottery, glass, pewter and many more, with the actual crafts people there selling their wares. It's very authentic and atmospheric. There's also a few places to eat, one of which we tried (cant remember the name!) but was typical German food, servers... More

Just inside the Old Town walls at the Frauentor gateway, this is a small collection of craftsmen's shops displaying and selling their wares. These are handmade items from folks who practice the old trades---pottery makers, pewterers, leather workers, glass cutters...We purchased a beautiful hand forged pewter beer stein from the old gent who created it---now that's special!!! Worth a short visit.

It somehow reminded us of the past. That's how we would imagine it was in the past. Small shops with different repair services and other things to see.

A small courtyard of shops that offered handcrafted items alongside a few rustic restaurants. It was a cute area to walk around, despite the fact we didn't see anything we wanted to buy.

A lovely area to wander. We window shopped only and didn't buy. Although the window displays were nice we were not tempted enough to enter any shops.

This market was really cute and the buildings were super idyllic and photogenic. The market sold lots of trinket and handmade type goods which made good souvenirs, however if you are looking for real shopping it's not really your place. That being said it's located very centrally and is definitely worth a quick visit if only for the pictures.
