We travel two hours every month to shop here. The quality of the food and vegetables is far higher. The prices fair, the sortiment wide. Shopping in Nuremberg is well worth the trip. Recommended.

Nuremberg is a beautiful and lively city. Great beer gardens and this beautiful market in the center of town. Lots of things to buy, good sausages to eat (if you go to Germany, you better like the taste of pork).

The square is very nice, with many restaurants and a church it is one of the most important meeting points of the city. On weekends they sell fruits and other thing of top quality.

This market is in front of the Frauenkirche and it is open all year round. You can find some lovely fruit and vegetables there but also flowers. Everything seems to stop at noon as everyone, even the sellers seem to watch the clock. I have to say I admired the sellers to be outside all the time in minus temperatures.

during our visit the " Hauptmarkt " was occupied by the annual Christmas market which is a huge attraction and has a good reputation. While you are there visit the Frauenkirche and the Fountain on the other side...while there pay a visit to " Alex " a Cafe on Hauptmarkt from the Terrace you get a great view over Hauptmarkt.

We've been there for Christmas and for sure I can say it is the most beautiful traditional Christmas Market I saw in Europe.

The market is extremely diverse with lots of small stalls selling seasonal fruit, vegetables, small goods, and food stalls. Most of the goods are locally sourced, with few exceptions (this is something I often note when going to local markets!). The highlight for me was the overall atmosphere - everyone being helpful and friendly, with the occasional scent of Lebkuchen... More
