My wife had been here before but I was assured that this was a "must see" place. The interior decoration is quite stunning and it is so bright inside because the colour white predominates on the walls and ceiling. The quality of paintings and imagery...More

They call this, the Old Chapel, but don't be fooled, it is every bit like many cathedrals I have been in. My cousin, who lives in Nuremberg, was never in it despite many visits to this city. It is often overlooked, but don't let it...More

This medieval church was refitted in Baroque style and houses a wonderful icon of the Virgin Mary said to have been painted by St, Luke. There are several other such paintings in Europe but this one is at least a genuine Greek icon.

Even though this was one of the many churches and chapels we visited during our vacation, it was certainly beautiful and well preserved. I can only imagine a wedding in this lovely place.

What a fabulous church and well worth taking the time to see. The artwork is amazing and even if you are not a church lover, you will love this one as it is immaculate and different. Baroque style at its best.

This place is fabulous, really OTT. Although we had to view (and photograph) its Baroque interior through railings it was still good

This church actually pre-dates the Regensburg cathedral by about 50 years. The gilded interior is striking as is the art, especially the ceiling which was applied in the baroque style. There are also some really fantastic carvings throughout the great church.

I returned for a second visit and was able to concentrate more on the details of both the plaster and the painting. If you are lucky (like I was) you might get to hear the new organ that Pope Benedict dedicated.

This church is mind blowingly beautiful - gold decoration drips fro almost everything. Well worth a visit. The only disappointment is that the church can only be viewed through a grille at the rear as the nave part is kept under lock and key.

Beautiful church. Looks like nothing on the outside but what a surprise inside. Just missed a mass on Sunday morning so couldn't go past the gates. But still amazing.

It's open all day (7-7). You can't tour when Mass is happening. At lunch you can enter the chapel but you can't walk through it but you can take pictures through an iron gate.

Outside of service times, the church is only visible from behind a locked iron grille at the rear. It's still a splendid view, but only in one direction.
