Very walk-able town that surrounds you in history. Several gateway towers, beautiful hotels, restaurants, homes and churches. Great views from the top of the city wall. A map is available with suggested walking routes.

Beautiful small historical old town. So clean! No annoying advertisement pollution. Not as tourist oriented as the nearby city of Rothenburg. I highly recommend booking a walking tour.

We walked the entire historic part of Dinkelsbühl in just a little over an hour. Took lots of photos of 500 year old houses. There are many historic Restaurants and Hotels, as well as city gates and walls. The only drawback there is parking. You can only park 2 hours max inside the city walls with a "Parkscheibe". That fact... More

Travelling the Romantische Strasse from Würtzburg to Füssen begs the question: Which towns should we visit? - It is impractical to see all of them. Our 2 favorites were Rothenburg and Dinkelsbühl; but the this last one was the best. From the minute we saw the walls and the towers from a distance I was sure that this would be... More

Regardless of which towns you visit (Rothenberg, Dinkelbuhl, Nordlingen The famous3) you will love them all. Park your car and wander the streets, to marvel at the archtecture and imagine what life was like during the middle ages.

We have been here five times as its such a magical little town, with an original town wall and buildings due to the fact that it escaped any damage during the war. Its been lovingly maintained and is not over visited with tourists like Rothenberg so you can wander the streets in peace and be transported back in time.

This town is gorgeous. All of the buildings in this aldstadt seem to date back to the 14th century (or thereabouts) and have had their exteriors done up accordingly. Heritage colours, shutters, window boxes full of geraniums, and cobblestone streets are everywhere. It's one of the major stops on the (poorly signposted) Romantic Road. I could have spent the whole... More

The old city has beautiful half timbered houses and you can easily walk around it to see the towers of the wall. We liked it better than its more famous and tourist invaded neighbor, Rothenburg ob der Tauber .

Dinkelsbuhl could be a wonderful medieval town except for the cars. You have to watch every second to prevent from being run over. There is a speed limit but my impression is that its a minimum speed and most cars are driving faster. As a photographer, I would luv to make images of the old buildings but there are cars... More
