The city of Fuessen has a lot of charm with beautifully painted facades and great views of the old walls. However the shops and restaurants close very early (by 6pm). Only window shopping for us as our trip did not afford time to return the next day. Easy to walk around largely pedestrian friendly.

Fussen sits in a fantastic location, within 10 minutes from Neuschwenstein Castle, it is also the terminal point of the Romantic Road and a border town with Austria with many skiing slopes around. But the town itself is very pretty too with a colourful Altstadt painted in lovely pastel colours, a beautifully decorated pharmacy and a river passing through not... More

The clean, neat old town is similar to many other German towns and there are many little shops and eateries obviously catering well for tourists. In this part of Fussen two streets meet like a "V". Further on you can walk a short distance up to the castle.

Really pleasant to walk through it at a leisurely pace however it is very not unlike other old town centres across Europe.

The tour operator gave me a little time to walk the town. I loved it. It's full of little shops and old buildings. Wish I had more time. You need more than a couple hours.

Beautiful castle! Great shopping! Friendly locals and great authentic German food! Quiet town and very easy to get around town. Wear comfortable shoes/boots because you'll be walking a lot! Great fun!

This town and alive during the day, but the options of restaurants and stores doesn't vary much. The nature and buildings in the area are beautiful and comes with a nice vibe. Will miss my afternoon in this place

A cute town with a nice pedestrian area with only dining and shopping. It was beautiful on a sunny day, not a lot to do, but sit at a cafe, have a beer or an ice cream and plan your trip to one of the local castles. If you are in Fussen, I definitely recommend a short walk around the... More
