Berlin is a cosmopolitan city and boosts an incredible night life but sightseeing is also pleasant. Obviously it's not Rome or Paris but it's worth a walk through the city center and Brandenburg gate area.

We visited here on an amazing walking tour through Berlin as we were told about the significance of the gate. Was great to visit it in person, absolutely stunning.

We got to view this at the end of a great walking tour through the heart of Berlin and I can understand why this is the finishing point. This is a truly wonderful historical land mark.

Love visiting this landmark in Berlin, steeped in history. There’s a room of silence here for contemplation and also a Tourist Information Shop... with sometimes grumpy staff!! It makes you consider all the historical things that have happened here and there’s a fab Currywurst stall...More

Very easy to get to - it's near several other major attractions and the city. Steeped in history this is. it was unaccesible when the wall was up. Lovely building very very touristy....keep hands on your wallets and bags though! A MUST VISIT

Be aware around the gate and park that criminals posing as charity workers for a disabled charity are operating. My wife was robbed of all our Euros whilst paying 5 for so called disability charity. There usually work in pairs and they are female. Watch...More

The Brandenburg Gate is a highlight of Berlin. So many important events in German history have taken place here. Now with the embassies rebuilt around it, the Gate will live on forever.

The centre of Berlin, Mitte is most famous for sights
like the Brandenburg Gate, Alexanderplatz, and Museum
Island. The central location makes this one of the
city's most expensive places to live. It is here the
oldest traces of the city can be found, and evidence
of some significant transformations, as well. The
gangsters that once ruled the impoverished streets
between Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt have given

It depends on what tour you want to go on, but I would recommend Fat Tire Bike tours. They start at 11 am!

As the others have said there's no need to take a tour. We walked from our hotel to soak up the atmosphere and history and used our guide books and maps . There are numerous information boards around in different languages... More
