One of the older areas in Berlin that has been partially saved from the bombs, hence the many typical nice courtyards and old buildings.

The neighborhood is pretty, and gives, perhaps, a sense of old Berlin. Small shops and lots of restaurants. Worth a walk for an hour or two.

This has to be my favourite quarter of the city. What you see is what you get. Nice bohemian feeling and so many mothers with small children during the day, catered to by nice little cafes with nappy/diaper -changing facilities. Walk around and you will find...More

This neighborhood's buildings were spared (miraculously, it seems) from the bombing of Berlin in WWII, so there are still many pre-WWII buildings around. Many of them have been converted into gracious apartments (we stayed in one of them), and this area of town also has...More

We took a walk in this neighborhood where there was a mixture of old and new buildings. The park was nice and we visited the nearby Kollwitzplatz market too. Really nice!

Great relaxed neighborhood , with lots of calm streets of cafe's and restaurant, young people, families... I would recommend go with a familiar person to ensure you will enjoy. But alone is also fine and you'll be able to navigate easily.

Lots of restaurants and parks in this area with old DDR (east German) workers tenements that are now mostly trendy lofts and flats.

No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change
than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists
that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in
the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip
crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were
once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall,
there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have
been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays,
