We love Urban Adventures, and Hidden Berlin was no exception. Joanne was so interesting and knowledgeable - she answered every question, and with interest and enthusiasm, not like a bored tour guide. That is the difference between a tour guide and an Adventure Group Leader - you get to discover a new city with an educated and usually totally overqualified... More

We can highy recommend a tour exploring the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. From the moment you start the tour on the East side Gallery you are immersed in history, crossing the Oberbaum Bridge you enter the dynamic Kreuzburg neighbourhood and the rich tapestry of life in berlin. This tour really gets you off the tourist trail and you experience the... More

We were lucky enough to have a real historian, Pablo, as our guide for the day- Pablo had an obvious passion for Berlin and knew his German history in detail. We were a group of eight family friends and Pablo was able to really engage with us all and made the city and its past come alive. Being a walking... More

I took the tour noted above. Very thorough one. It gives you highlights of Berlin, places I will definitely go back & see inside (you do not enter, because there is not enough time), but still it was very interesting, Lucian my guide was great.

We took the Urban Story Line of Berlin tour. Our guide was Pablo who lives and studies in Berlin his local knowledge coupled with his deep love land understanding of the Berlin history really made the tour come to life. Our group of only four people meant that we could easily stay longer in some places and spend less time... More

We toured Hidden Berlin, our guide was friendly and passionate and it was great to see sights off the usual tourist paths, but, I thought is was very expensive for what it was. Did two similar length (excellent) tours while in Berlin of slightly different themes and they were a fraction of the price.

Our group took this tour after a month-long trip through Scandinavia and the Baltics. Our guide, Lucien, was very knowledgeable and clearly passionate about Berlin and its history. Maybe too much so! ;) He was so passionate about the history of the city (we did the Hidden Berlin tour) that the tour went just over an hour longer than scheduled.... More

We did a walking tour with Pablo Cantuarias of Berlin which we thoroughly enjoyed. He had great knowledge of Berlin and its history and made the tour fun and enjoyable. We would highly recommend this tour with Pablo. :-) Sandra and Chris

It's fascinating when you're a tour guide yourself, to go on someone else's tour. And so it was on our trip to Berlin. Lucian, our guide, took us from the remnants of the Wall to Kreuzberg, which has to be the most interesting area of Berlin. I hadn't read the full itinerary of the tour so I was constantly surprised... More

Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
Friedrichshain
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
