Zoo Berlin is home to over 15.000 rare and endangered animals representing more than 1.500 species and subspecies. It is the most speciose zoo worldwide. Zoo Berlin is located in heart of Berlin, opposite to the train station Zoologischer Garten.

The tasks our zoos of today are faced with are many and diverse. And there is more than one reason to keep animals. Since 1844 visitors to Zoo Berlin can relax and learn. Comparable with a living, green oasis the zoo today lies directly at the heart of the city. Here you can relax and learn new facts about the most diverse zoological subjects as your interest takes you.

We got to Berlin early on a Thursday morning and decided to have a walk. And we managed to find a taxi to take us to the zoo. Brilliant place to visit even in the cold weather. Animals are well looked after and the place was amazing. Only disappointing point was that the bird life was away, as the bird... More

I'm not a bug fan of zoo's but my son wanted to go. The animals are well looked after in a clean environment. Theres plenty of animals to see and its worth getting a ticket for the aquarium while your there. A great few hours, easy to spend a day there.

Just make sure if you decide to visit the place that you just ate, or bring your own snacks, the restaurants offer very poor selection and are expensive. We also went on a sunny day and it took us around 3-4hours to go through all of it so make sure to bring sunscreen!! haha i burned so bad that day.... More

This zoo was EXCELLENT! And what separated it from the rest was the view of the animals. So instead of giant fences making the animals feel trapped, they had ditches around the enclosures and so this is ll that separated us and so the views were better and you could tell the animals were happier They had a large variety... Would have been better in the Summer but despite that we had fun. We took our 19 month old who loved it. Lots to see! Really big park for kids of ALL ages to run around. Our favourite part was walking amongst the rams, sheep and donkeys. Didn't go to the aquarium unfortunately but the rest of the zoo was... More

Despite of the fact that I feel sorry for all the animals trapped in a zoo I really liked the variety of all these animals and also the aquarium which is a 3 level worth visiting.

This zoo was a lovely zoo with such a great variety of animals. Absolutely huge zoo with lots to see and very funny animals such as the monkeys being cheeky and entertaining to watch their ways of life. Very good price for what you get to see. However my group and i felt that some enclosures seemed unfair. Huge elephants... More

Staying in Charlottenburg

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlottenburg
Breathe in Berlin’s royal past while walking through the gardens of beautiful Charlottenburg Palace, which lends its name to this well-heeled neighbourhood. Here you'll find some of the oldest homes in the city: upper-class apartment buildings with ornate facades and marble-floored foyers line the cobblestone streets. Stroll by sophisticated restaurants, through little parks, or around Lake Lietzensee. Window shop down Kurfürstendamm, the most renowned high-end shopping street in Berlin, where you can find all the big designer names. In the evening, visit one of the old theatres close by Zoo Station which were nightlife hot spots in the 1920s, or dine in one of the many international restaurants around Savignyplatz before heading to other parts of town for a night out.
