On Saturday the Platz is ringed with a double row of stalls - around 100 vendors. Many of the stalls are small trailers selling food ingredients to the locals. There are also lots of places to buy prepared food. Very few to no tourists.

The food was average. The mulled wine with rum was amazing. The vegan burger stall was superb. The clothes were a let down. Some old clothes and used boots also were on sale. We bought leather gloves. Good buy. Overrated flea market.

When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of
the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party
hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is
palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter
are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may
find a bar with international crowds, electronic
music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other,
an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit
