The guide was terrific

Our tour guide Nathan was very knowledgable; responsive to questions; and moved us around at a nice pace--not rushed, not dawdling. Great way to see Berlin on Day One.

Two friends and I took the Sachsenhausen Concentration camp tour on Sat 20th May. Our tour guide was Darren, a PhD student with a wealth of knowledge on Nazi Germany. Although the topic is a challenging one, the experience of the day was immensely powerful. Darren was warm, organised, and a very interesting speaker. He got us all thinking and... More

Our tour guide Rick was an incredible wealth of information about everything we saw on our tour. His passion for the history of WW2 was obvious and this led to much discussion along the way, and a lot of information sharing among the group . I would highly recommend this tour!!

We'd gone on the tour with Jess, whose knowledge and expertise with German history was simply awesome. The tour itself was good fun, and covers quite a bit of the major attractions of Berlin. Would recommend

Heidi led us on a walking tour of Berlin, which was an amazing four hours, packed with more information than I thought possible. It was a drizzly, chilly day (not her fault) but she kept us moving, and we had a fantastic history lesson which was pertinent and fascinating. Her knowledge is formidable, she encouraged any and all questions, and... More

Jess was informative, friendly and funny. All you could expect and more. Will consider walking tours as a valid option if something to do in cities I visit.

Our walking tour guide Jess was an absolute encyclopaedia of knowledge taking a group of 41 through the streets of Berlin and telling us about all the memorials and monuments. Would easily recommend to anyone going to Berlin to do his tour!

The Third Reich Walking Tour led by Jess from Original Berlin Walks was very informative, but yet very entertaining and enjoyable. Jess was upbeat, had a good sense of humour, and was extremely knowledgeable. He went beyond the reaches of what google would be able to find for you. He answered all our questions and and encouraged group participation which... More

Despite the weather, Merren started and continued our walk with a high level of expertise and confidence. She was able to engage members of the group into the commentary she gave. An enjoyable, knowledgeable and informative walk. Thank you! Staying in Friedrichshain

Neighbourhood Profile
When you arrive at Warschauer Strasse in the heart of the district, you have found one of Berlin’s party hotspots. At night in Friedrichshain, the energy is palpable and the streets of this old worker's quarter are full of street musicians. On one hand, you may find a bar with international crowds, electronic music, long lines and panoramic views - on the other, an outside venue by old train yards featuring decrepit buildings and live alternative music. No matter your taste, the best way to end a night out in Friedrichshain is sitting by the Spree River at the East side gallery, the longest and best preserved piece of the Berlin Wall, watching the sun rise over the beautiful Oberbaum Bridge.
