About Slow Travel Berlin
Our cultural-historical tours, led by long-term residents, take the form of informal but informed strolls that draw on history, literature, architecture and other cultural phenomena. We aim to provide unique and personalised insights into the city’s past and present that appeal to both locals and visitors alike. We usually limit numbers to six people in order to encourage maximum interaction and minimum interruption to the neighbourhoods that we operate in, and keep the price deliberately affordable to encourage a broad range of participants. Our tours and workshops have been mentioned in various German and international publications, from Easyjet Magazine and the Rough Guide to Berlin, to b.There Magazine, In Your Pocket, Flux FM, The Observer, Sydney Morning Herald, Tagesspiegel and more. We also offer tours for private groups and can arrange tailored itineraries.

We had originally booked the tour on Berlin’s Film and Music Heritage but unfortunately Mark came down with an illness (hope you are feeling better now!) and hats off to Slow Travel Berlin and to Mark and Paul. Paul stepped in and said he could...More

Paul is a fantastic teacher. Explains stuff with a great sense: going into details when needed, skipping stuff, which is not needed at the moment. He got my attention from very first minutes when we took cameras in our hands and played with settings, through...More

Even though we live in Berlin and often pass through Alexanderplatz, everything we saw during this tour was new for us! A friendly and well-prepared guide answered our questions and was flexible enough to accommodate the needs of two couples with toddlers :-) Highly recommended...More

Mark was a very knowlegeable and entertaining guide who took us to a range of film locations both familiar and unfamiliar. We discovered a whole new side of Berlin and particularly enjoyed Mark's explanations of the wider historical context of the films and music. We...More

We booked this a couple of days ahead of our visit to Berlin, and were glad we did. Mark met us on time and at the appointed place. He took us on a leisurely-ish walk of about 3 hours from Alexanderplatz (where Bourne Supremacy was...More

Mark is an excellent guide, knowledgable of both past, present and his chosen subject(s). His knowledge of the recent history of the reunification of Germany and how it was presented by filmmakers is particularly good. I really enjoyed this walk.

I've done two walking tours with Slow Travel Berlin (Wedding & Prenzlauer Berg) & thoroughly enjoyed them both. The guides were excellent & shared interesting stories that are seldom told & pointed out buildings, etc that you would not normally notice. There was a mix...More
