Our cultural-historical tours, led by long-term residents, take the form of informal but informed strolls that draw on history, literature, architecture and other cultural phenomena. We aim to provide unique and personalised insights into the city’s past and present that appeal to both locals and visitors alike. We usually limit numbers to six people in order to encourage maximum interaction and minimum interruption to the neighbourhoods that we operate in, and keep the price deliberately affordable to encourage a broad range of participants. Our tours and workshops have been mentioned in various German and international publications, from Easyjet Magazine and the Rough Guide to Berlin, to b.There Magazine, In Your Pocket, Flux FM, The Observer, Sydney Morning Herald, Tagesspiegel and more. We also offer tours for private groups and can arrange tailored itineraries.

Mark was a very knowlegeable and entertaining guide who took us to a range of film locations both familiar and unfamiliar. We discovered a whole new side of Berlin and particularly enjoyed Mark's explanations of the wider historical context of the films and music. We...More

We booked this a couple of days ahead of our visit to Berlin, and were glad we did. Mark met us on time and at the appointed place. He took us on a leisurely-ish walk of about 3 hours from Alexanderplatz (where Bourne Supremacy was...More

Mark is an excellent guide, knowledgable of both past, present and his chosen subject(s). His knowledge of the recent history of the reunification of Germany and how it was presented by filmmakers is particularly good. I really enjoyed this walk.

I've done two walking tours with Slow Travel Berlin (Wedding & Prenzlauer Berg) & thoroughly enjoyed them both. The guides were excellent & shared interesting stories that are seldom told & pointed out buildings, etc that you would not normally notice. There was a mix...More

I used to live in Prenzlauer Berg until 2001 when I moved. Walking with Paul showed me some places I had passed by every day and never paid attention to and brought the stories behind the buildings to live - really learnt a lot about...More

This was a great tour. Paul really knows his stuff and, from what I can tell, adapts to the people with him. Our group was pretty political in these very political times, and and that gave Paul a lot of context to work with in...More

Prenzlauer Berg
No Berlin neighbourhood has undergone a greater change
than Prenzlauer Berg. The artists and non-conformists
that defined the district’s intriguing subculture in
the 1980s and 90s have been replaced by a young, hip
crowd that frequents the many cafes. Where there were
once run-down houses in the shadow of the Berlin Wall,
there are now designer shops. Beautiful old homes have
been modernized and renovated, and on Sundays,
