The structures in Marktplatz are living testaments to Bremen's interesting history. The cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul are imposing structures that are quite impressive. The Municipal Hall Building with its ornate facade stands elegantly and proudly. Not even long years has diminished its beauty. There are also cafes in the area, and not far from the Marktplatz are the... More

Most town squares in Europe can be very crowded and touristy, but not so with Bremen. Bremen really does feel like you're taking a step back in time. Not just because it's surrounded with beautiful historical buildings (and there are plenty of it here!), but the overall atmosphere is very laid-back, with street musicians and people enjoying their time instead... Get in before the tourist buses arrive (0930) and you can take pictures without a few hundred selfie-stick wielding tourists to crop out. Several places to grab a coffee, breakfast, lunch or an afternoon beer. I just wish the local authorities would ban smoking at outdoor cafes here! Mein Gott!

Here you are at the charming centre and heart of Bremen - the ancient beautyful buildings, including the Rathaus- unesco habitat- the big church (Dom) and the Roland statue. In summertime people love to sit here spendng time sitting in one of the nice streetcafes . Enjoy your stay!

This is one of my favourite places in Bremen and not to be missed if visiting the City. Many nearby shops and restaurants but the historical centre is beautiful. The Rathaus is one of the best.

Too bad it was a dreary wet SUN afternoon - but the surrounding architecture was great to see. Cobblestone streets everywhere.

Back end of a stag do - this place provided a quiet, tranquil spot to slowly nurse the hangovers. Mildly spoilt by other English tourists but what can you do. Beautiful place and will need to see again on a proper holiday!

Truly a remarkable place to see with the Rathaus and the St Pieter cathedral. Don't miss the "Town Musicians of Bremen" statue around the corner or dinner in the Ratskeller; don't forget to make reservation.
