Inside some building work is in progress, but the main reason for visiting Cecilienhof is to view rooms were the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945, these rooms are unaffected by Workmen. To understand who went in which room and the back biting that went on between Stalin, Truman and Churchill needs a local guide or audible, available at entrance.... More

This is the site of the Potsdam Conference which took place after WWII. If you are at all into history, this is a must see if you are in the area, and having a guide really helps. Lots of details about the politics involved with the victors (U.S., Russia, U.K & France), individual doors so all could enter at the... More

What a story this place has to tell. Truman, Stalin and Churchill all vying for power in a deadly Game of Thrones that was capped by the dropping of the bomb a few days later in Japan. A great place to visit but probably no good for young kids.

This is a great tour. Most train stations in Berlin will get you to Potsdam. Once there grab a tour or wear your walking shoes! There are audios once there to take you through the Cecilienhof and give you it's history. From the original family to when the world leaders sat here and divided up the countries.

This site us undergoing restoration but the key rooms are still available. There is a good audio tour and pictures in English and German. Some visitors have complained that you do not see much but the sense of history is palpable. The queue for the loos can be very long so go before you get here. You can get here... More

The guided tour was the right balance of moving us along and letting us move at our own pace. We had audio guides, so we could get as much or as little information as we wanted at each stop on the tour. I enjoyed taking time to just look and reflect on the historic times and the personalities who made... More

Very interesting site to visit. Historic. When we went the bus had a hard time getting to the site. The road was under construction. We tried to go through residential and got stuck had to maneuver back. Once we got there it was a walk to the site. Muddy walk. It was drizzling. There is a little gift shop. Bathrooms...make... Cecilienhof is a historic place, those who know about history it is the place where the four powers signed the contract that was the basis for post-war Europe. It is now being renovated which feels like lasting ages and looking at it it still looks far from completion. 2017 should be the date, at least what they say. Wouldn't be... More

If you are in Berlin and have enough time, take a trip out to Potsdam to see where history was made at the Cecilienhof (as well as the Sans Souci Palace). The Kaiser's son, Crown Prince Wilhelm, had the Cecilienhof named after his beautiful wife,Built on the shore of the Havel about 10 miles east of central Berlin the palace... More

This country house in mock Tudor style is worth visiting for its connection with the Potsdam Conference of 1945. The conference room where the Big Three met has been preserved in its original condition with the conference table set up for a meeting. The tour of the building also includes visits to the rooms used by Stalin, Churchill/Atlee and Roosevelt/Truman.... More
