The video games exhibition that's currently on is good fun, as you can try out a range of video games from different genres / decades / consoles. The rest of the museum is fairly dull, although that is a matter of personal taste

The Why: I had four hours to kill while I was waiting at Hamburg central station to meet my partner who was at work. I had just flown in from Edinburgh. I had a bag and was exhausted. Google maps showed it was literally 5 minutes walk so I went. The Good: -Was able to check my bag and coat... More

Spent 3 very happy hours wandering the exhibits that ranged from art nouveau to contemporary in so many decorative arts. Didn't get to see it all and hope to come back.

We went on a Saturday morning with relatively few visitors. We mainly saw some of the permanent collectio0n. There is a lot to see and a number of famous painters seem to be presented there, Quite a nice but tiresome expericence. A fine shop by the way. We went to the café for a morning coffee just to find out... More

The best thing about the museum- everybody can find something interesting for himself . There usually held number of exhibitions at one time. And the museum works on Sundays, while everything is closed))))

The museum is really quite large. The permanent exhibitions are good to see once, and the temporary exhibitions are also really good. There were two on whilst I was there. The gaming one is full of teenagers, so maybe not visit on a weekend!

We visited the museum because of the retro video game exhibition being held in Winter 2016/17. This temporary exhibition was very well designed and featured a great range of video games from the 1970s onwards. It did make me feel quite old though as I wouldn't have counted some of them as retro! Stayed for the permanent exhibits too, including... More
