This fish market opens very early, so that the people who were out partying since Sat night can have a quick bite before heading home. We arrived at around 8am (online says that the market closes by 9am - NO! It doesn't!) In fact, you'll...More

This market is really nice but it requires to wake up early on a Sunday. It can be too crowded at times but overall I'd recommend a visit.

This market was open on Saturday when we last visited except for the fish market.Nothing compares to a 5.30 am visit on Sunday .It is such a unreal experience,With people having breakfast, drinking beer, bands playing at that hour of the morning. I have never...More

I love to visit the fish market. It's my favorite place in Hamburg. The first time I tried to stay up all night so we could arrive early but alas I'm too old for those games. Up at 5am. First beer at 5:30 flowed by...More

Great live music, various stalls to look round and plenty to eat and drink either in or around the market

What a disappointment. Arrived early as recommended despite the rain. Lots of people but not much to see. So many amazing markets in Europe and around the world that blow this away. Seedy and dirty. Stay in bed and Google it instead.

To really enjoy the fishmarket atmosphere you need to visit at 5-6am to enjoy the true fishmarket. During weekend you will experience the early morning change from dance public to working people that will earn their money from fish and flower sales. The Dutch flower...More

Our cruise anchored near the place on Sunday & we went there early lest we missed the atmosphere before 9.30 am closure. This is just an overcrowded market which sells fish, vegetables, fruits etc. What's the big deal of having rock bands playing in the...More
