The house in which the legendary German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe lived his early years in invites you to discover the place and to learn more about life in the 18th century. Next to the historical site you can visit the Goethe-Museum, a collection of marvelous paintings of Goethe’s era that takes you on a journey from Goethe's youth in Frankfurt to his elder years in Weimar and beyond. Interesting home of Goethe. Wealthy family. Many of the items in the home were period pieces, not from the Goethe family. Still a fun side trip.
