I didn't actually like Frankfurt as a city until I took a walk along the riverside and then my opinions completely changed. Its nice to be in a location where everyone is relaxing having a beer whilst looking over the river at the Frankfurt skyline. I thought the view was at its best in the evening when the sun was... To have a nice feel of the local life, take a walk along the riverside, especially on a sunny day, where many locals are just hanging there by the river, having picnics, a drink or just enjoying the sunny days lying on the grass. You may also want to cross the river to the other side to have a better... More

It is a nice walk along the Mainkai street on a sunny day in March. I came out of the Steatal museum and walked to Romer. Many German families were having picnics on the river bank, and others were just having a few drinks and a great time! There are a few bridges between the west and east side of... More

We went in the summer, in the month of August. There was a fair/festival taking place, with rides and a lot of great street food and desserts. Everything was set up near the water, and it looked beautiful and very festive.

Great path along the Main river to take in the scenic views and river activity - even in winter time the city does a great job of keeping the Mainkai clear for outdoor enthusiasts.

picturesque promenade along the Main river and the Frankfurt skyline, plenty of small cafes and restaurant invite to prolong the stay/walk and continue into the city center

I was visiting my friend during the Christmas season to be able to see the Christmas markets and all the decorations. We opted to walk a bit along this street to get to the Locks Bridge. The breeze off the river was bone chilling and put a bit of a damper on our mood. I would say that this street... More
