By German standards the castle is only average and he contents of the museum a bit boring. There are different routes from the Markt to the castle, some along cobbled streets and others on steep stairways. These waks are more interesting than the castle itself...More

The location of this castle is on top of the hill of the old town of Marburg. After walking up the hill you are not only rewarded by beautiful views , but a well curated museum gives you insight into the history of this city!

The castle itself is not that attractive but has a bit of history and the view is fantastic. From there the old town looks like Hogsmeade from Harry Potter.

We (me and my 11 yr old son) enjoyed our visit, though some areas were closed for refurbishing. Some of the history of Marbug is explained well and it's really interesting to think through the impact of Calvinism on Elisabethkirsche (there's plenty to set off...More

Great spot with brilliant views across the town below. The castle is the pinnacle of the old town and the town itself is beautiful.
