The cathedral is not too far from the castle. You can pass by to pray but don't expect that much concerning decoration.

Very serene beautiful Cathedral- within minutes of the castle. 1 euro to light a candle. There was a farmer's market outside that was also very nice. Cathedral is open at 11 am

One thing that we found quite unusual is that the quiet area for prayer is actually in the chancel. Some lovely item of interest including the crucifix which as we found out seems quite a popular style for the area of Germany.

We stopped in to take a quick look at the Cathedral. Paid one Euro to light the alter. Very interesting history. From Napolean to the Russians.

Well worth a visit. The interior is surprising. Many of the walls look like they are wood lined but are not. I won't spoil the surprise. The staff are very good. The grounds are also lovely. nice place to walk after being inside.

Despite not going inside you got a great view of the massive cathedral from the outside. If you get a chance go inside.

As every seasoned tourist knows Europe is peppered with churches and cathedrals. This one on a scale of grandness lies somewhere in the middle. Since Schwerin was not bombed during the war it maintains its grandeur. What sets it apart from many others however, is...More

We visited the cathedral which is surprisingly big. Main attraction for us was the 10 min walk up the church tower to enjoy the 360 degree view over Schwerin. Good spot to take pictures, remember your zoom-lens.

Interior was beautiful and if you pay 1 Euro you can turn on the lights to view the crypt under the altar.
